Multiple representations of scenarios

Today we generated multiple descriptions (verbal, equation, graph, and table) of a real world scenario. The homework for tonight was to create a verbal, equation, table, and graph description for the following scenario: "To fix a car, Joe’s Garage charges a base fee of $25 and $40 per hour "

Writing equations

Today we wrote equations from problem situations by analyzing the key words and ideas in them. We ended with the following homework assignment : "Wade's small bathtub will hold 15 gallons of water. If the tub drains at a constant rate of 3.5 gallons per minute, write an equation that can be used to find g, the number of gallons of water in the bathtub after 2 minutes."

Projects

Class projects were due Monday. Some of the projects were really interesting. Particularly some of the animations. It was nice to see the amount of effort that was put into these projects.
This is an example. However, there is a mistake. 10^4 should be 10^2.
